GACT is happy to welcome two new collaboration partners: Dr. Ewa Dutkiewicz and Andrei Balarie, who had already joined us as a visiting researcher in Tübingen earlier that year (we have already introduced Andrei).
Dr. Ewa Dutkiewicz is the curator of the Stone Age department at the Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte in Berlin. She leads several cave excavations in western Romania in cooperation with Romanian and German partner institutions. Her field work is part of the international research project PRIME (Prehistoric Research and Investigations in the Mountain Environments of Banat) and provides detailed insights into the use of caves from the Paleolithic to the Metal Ages. She is currently excavating at Peştera cu Apă (Româneşti,) Grota lui Tiberiu (Crivina de Sus) and Peștera Hoților (Băile Herculane). The data obtained from these excavations will support the objectives of GACT on many levels.
